NOVEMBER 2017

Yes, it is Thanksgiving already. Even though the stores have skipped over Halloween and Thanksgiving and gone straight to Christmas.
I did not. I have a couple of pictures I took at the Halloween party in Wilton Manors. You can always count on seeing the best and most original costumes every year. I went as an accountant.

He had lightening in the clouds, blowing leaves and limbs in the dress, buckets of rain and rain falling down.
I ran into my friend Patricia and her friend (sorry, don't remember his name). Jana met Patty at Square Dance.
This was all one costume. The superman skeleton was his walking stick and everything moved with him as he walked. Quite amazing.

The Headless Pumpkin man would be enough to scare children and plenty of adults also.
I liked this a lot. It was lit up inside and moved with her as she walked around.
A lot of work went into creating this masterpiece.

Now Let's jump into our 'way back machine' to the late 70's and early 80's. I was working with Richard Bone and his group BONE, and also one of the original punk, alternative groups, SHOX LUMANIA. With us was a friend, and very talented Merrill Aldighieri. She captured a lot of this work on video and went on to make a career out of it working with many groups.

This month through April MOMA, Museum of Modern Art in New York is featuring an installation of some of her work and others. It was focused on a popular club back then, Club 57. Located in the village on St. Marks Place it was one of the hottest places for new music and technology. Merrill is being honored as being the person to introduce the term and genre of 'VJ' Video Jockey which was later picked up and became the focal point of MTV. These are just a few pictures of the opening of the installation. Congratulations to Merrill on receiving this honor for a life dedicated to new music through the decades.

Merrill was most excited at having famed actor and director John Waters as an attendee.

The line to get into the opening night of the installation
Congratulations to Merrill, Richard and all the artists involved in creating this genre which has become so important to our art and music over the years.

See you next Month...

OCTOBER 2017

I admit it. I have either just been lazy or have no concept of time. Which ever it was. I am just now getting around to posting. The only reason to post now is I don't want to miss a month.
I hope everyone had a great Halloween. Check out November for some great costumes from the Wicked Manors Festival this year.

October is also Birthday month for Linda James.
