SEPTEMBER 2016

Summer is almost over and not a moment too soon for a lot of us in South Florida.
Temps have been way too high and now there are a couple of storms brewing out there in the Atlantic. We know that they will all steer clear of us.

It's SEPTEMBER...You know what that means...
CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Yes, boys and girls Christmas is a mere 4 MONTHS AWAY. Only ONE THIRD OF A YEAR!!!
Which is why Big Lots is starting to put up its' Christmas department on September 1st.
Ain't lying to you. I have proof.

A while back I posted these but I happened to be watching an old rerun of Mike and Molly from bed when this scene came on. It was just odd because these three pictures are on the walls of my bedroom. I was looking at them on tv at the same time as I was looking at them on the walls. Weird......

These are a paint by number set that Mom, Linda and I painted around 1960. Ed Draisey made the frames and they have been somewhere on my walls everywhere I have lived for as long as I can remember. I don't remember how or when I got them. I know they were on the walls at home when I was growing up.

I am continuing with the modest remodel around the house. The kitchen is 99% done. Sewer line is connected, carport roof is done (thanks Johnny). New driveway and sprinkler system are weather permitting and in the works. TV is wall mounted and one of the hardest things I have ever done. It pulls out from the wall, moves around and tilts. Highly recommend hiring a pro if TV is over 50". Screen porch is 80% done and almost ready for cooler weather to enjoy it.

In the meantime I am sloooooowwwwly  sorting through stuff. finally tossing papers and moving furniture. Cleaning as I go.

UGLY DROP CEILING REMOVED ADDING 8 INCHES TO CEILING AND RECESSED
LIGHTS AND FAN ADDED

One afternoon during the visit from Linda and Jana, we went to see the new Star Trek movie in 3D. This was really a treat, not just the spectacular special effects in 3D but the theater was a dine in with full size recliners. Not cheap but worth it for the comfort.
Here are a couple more pics from their visit.

Linda does not take a bad picture!
The day before heading back home to Kansas, Linda received the sad news that her best furry friend Jet, had passed away.
I know he was a great comfort and friend to Linda and he will be missed very much.
